These blogs are specific to something that is happening in my own life.

Persevering Through Normal

normal-2

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 5:3-5

My sorority just started a new Bible study called Looking for Lovely by Annie F. Downs. The entire study is about looking for lovely (opening our eyes to God’s fingerprints all around us) and using those moments to fuel us when times get tough. Continue reading “Persevering Through Normal”

A Beautiful Gift

22-2.png

I was holding in my hands the most beautiful present I had ever seen. It was wrapped tightly in gold paper that glimmered like the sun. The burgundy ribbon wrapped around both sides until it concluded into a perfectly symmetrical bow on top. This gift was beautiful in every way, and it was mine to enjoy.  Continue reading “A Beautiful Gift”

The 5 W’s

theworldrace

At some point when we were younger, we all learned to ask the 5 w’s about an unknown situation- who, what, when, where, why. These 5 question words helped us to better investigate and understand an object or situation. I have made a video to explain what I am doing next year and to answer the 5 w’s about the World Race!

A White-and-White Issue

I am currently at a crossroads in my life, one that is familiar to many people- what to do after graduation. College is an amazing time of learning and having fun and finding out who you really are and what you want in life. However, that doesn’t make the post-graduation time seem any less blurry. New Year, New Season, Same Coffee

Well, we’re 5 days into this new year. As I write this, I’m sitting in a crowded Starbucks, drinking my favorite sugar-filled latte. This is about the time when most people have gone back to drinking soda, given up on the gym, and broken other corny resolutions.

A Day in the Life: Studying Abroad in Spain

I’m spending July studying Spanish abroad at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. Here’s what a typical day this month looks like:  Continue reading “A Day in the Life: Studying Abroad in Spain”

Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)

A couple weeks ago, I had one of those hard conversations. You know the ones. Conversations that are long overdue, but the thought of actually bringing up the problem or the situation puts your stomach in knots. It’s almost easier to just sweep the problem under the rug than boldly confront the other person.  Continue reading “Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)”

Periods of Uncertainty

In the last few years, I’ve noticed that I often go through seasons of certainty and seasons of uncertainty, mainly when looking at future plans or decisions. There are times in my life when I know I’m exactly where I want to be, but that place does not always just occur without choices being made.  Continue reading “Periods of Uncertainty”
