The 5 W’s

theworldrace

At some point when we were younger, we all learned to ask the 5 w’s about an unknown situation- who, what, when, where, why. These 5 question words helped us to better investigate and understand an object or situation. I have made a video to explain what I am doing next year and to answer the 5 w’s about the World Race!

A White-and-White Issue

I am currently at a crossroads in my life, one that is familiar to many people- what to do after graduation. College is an amazing time of learning and having fun and finding out who you really are and what you want in life. However, that doesn’t make the post-graduation time seem any less blurry. Why I Hate My Word for 2016

I spent a year faithfully pursuing God’s will and wholeheartedly trusting in what I thought was His plan, for this? For it to be the middle of April and now everything comes crashing down? I feel like He led me through hoops and challenges to get me to stand in the perfect spot, just to pull the rug out from under me and send me crashing to the floor.

New Year, New Season, Same Coffee

Well, we’re 5 days into this new year. As I write this, I’m sitting in a crowded Starbucks, drinking my favorite sugar-filled latte. This is about the time when most people have gone back to drinking soda, given up on the gym, and broken other corny resolutions.

101 in 1001

Two things that I love are making lists and setting goals. “Notes” is one of the most used apps on my iPhone because I make lists for everything. Blame it on Type-A personality or an obsession with organization, but I feel compelled to constantly make to-do lists and lists for things I need to buy/bring/remember/etc. I just don’t want to forget anything!

Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)

A couple weeks ago, I had one of those hard conversations. You know the ones. Conversations that are long overdue, but the thought of actually bringing up the problem or the situation puts your stomach in knots. It’s almost easier to just sweep the problem under the rug than boldly confront the other person.  Continue reading “Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)”

Periods of Uncertainty

In the last few years, I’ve noticed that I often go through seasons of certainty and seasons of uncertainty, mainly when looking at future plans or decisions. There are times in my life when I know I’m exactly where I want to be, but that place does not always just occur without choices being made.  Continue reading “Periods of Uncertainty”

This Funny Thing Called Life

I love lazy days. I love sleeping in, not having to look at my planner, moving in slow motion, and watching too many shows on Netflix.

Today, I had absolutely nothing to do and nowhere to go. I didn’t leave my room all day. At one point, I was just sitting on my bed, looking out the window. That’s when I spoke this to God: Continue reading “This Funny Thing Called Life”

Why You Should Dream Bigger Dreams

If you had to choose a word for this new year, what would you choose? Or better yet, what would God choose for you?

There is a ‘movement’ (for lack of a better word) among Christians to pray about and choose a word for the year. This word replaces new year resolutions and serves as  focus, a challenge, or support for the year.  Continue reading “Why You Should Dream Bigger Dreams”
