Persevering Through Normal

Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces perseverance, and perseverance produces character, and character produces hope. This hope will not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Romans 5:3-5

My sorority just started a new Bible study called Looking for Lovely by Annie F. Downs. The entire study is about looking for lovely (opening our eyes to God’s fingerprints all around us) and using those moments to fuel us when times get tough. Continue reading “Persevering Through Normal”

A White-and-White Issue

I am currently at a crossroads in my life, one that is familiar to many people- what to do after graduation. College is an amazing time of learning and having fun and finding out who you really are and what you want in life. However, that doesn’t make the post-graduation time seem any less blurry. Why I Hate My Word for 2016

I spent a year faithfully pursuing God’s will and wholeheartedly trusting in what I thought was His plan, for this? For it to be the middle of April and now everything comes crashing down? I feel like He led me through hoops and challenges to get me to stand in the perfect spot, just to pull the rug out from under me and send me crashing to the floor.

New Year, New Season, Same Coffee

Well, we’re 5 days into this new year. As I write this, I’m sitting in a crowded Starbucks, drinking my favorite sugar-filled latte. This is about the time when most people have gone back to drinking soda, given up on the gym, and broken other corny resolutions.

Wild Love

Have you ever read a quote, saw a picture, or heard a song that really just took your breath away for a minute? That’s how I felt about this song. I heard it for the first time last week, and it’s been on my mind since then. Continue reading “Wild Love”

Back-to-School Prayer

Today was the first day of my junior year at Auburn! I felt led to share the entry from my prayer journal. I think this is a great prayer for anyone, anytime, but especially for students going back to school. Join me in prayer, and let’s make this a year where God’s glory is displayed every day!

Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)

A couple weeks ago, I had one of those hard conversations. You know the ones. Conversations that are long overdue, but the thought of actually bringing up the problem or the situation puts your stomach in knots. It’s almost easier to just sweep the problem under the rug than boldly confront the other person.  Continue reading “Breaking Bracelets (and Chains)”

Kisses From Katie – Katie Davis

Kisses from Katie

On this beautiful day, I wanted to introduce you all to one of my all-time favorite books.

Kisses from Katie: A Story of Relentless Love and Redemption is an autobiography about Katie Davis falling in love with Uganda after going on a short mission trip there her senior year of high school. She decides to move there after graduation, and she ends up starting a ministry and adopting 13+ little girls.  Continue reading “Kisses From Katie – Katie Davis”

Periods of Uncertainty

In the last few years, I’ve noticed that I often go through seasons of certainty and seasons of uncertainty, mainly when looking at future plans or decisions. There are times in my life when I know I’m exactly where I want to be, but that place does not always just occur without choices being made.  Continue reading “Periods of Uncertainty”
